Since 2009 Arthur Arnold has been an independent non-executive director for, or advisor to, several companies, financial institutions and investment funds in Africa, in different market segments including micro-finance, consumer finance and SME finance. Prior to this he was CEO of FMO (from 2005 to 2008),and President and CEO of WOCCU, The World Council of Credit Unions (from 2000 to 2004). His earlier career was in commercial and investment banking, as Director of Financial Markets and Chairman of the Managing Board of Rabobank International (from 1992 to 1999), and with ABN AMRO Bank (from 1968 to1992), where he worked in Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the USA, and his last position was EVP Corporate Finance in Amsterdam. He studied Economics at Erasmus University, and has attended senior management and executive training programs at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
